Fitra Endowment
“Those who spend their money in the night and the day, secretly and openly, they will have their reward with their Lord; there is no fear over them nor will they grieve.”
- Quran (2:274)
Fitra Endowment or Fitrana is one of the obligations for the holy month of Ramadan, where Muslims give a small amount to charity. Fitra Endowment, an important Islamic rite, is one of the essential obligations for Muslims other than Zakar and Sadaqah. It is usually given before performing the Eid prayers after Ramadan. Regardless of age or financial standing, Fitra Endowment is compulsory for all Muslims, with the exemption for people who don't have one sa’ (approx. 2.6 – 3kg) of their staple food more than their needs. Bismillah is a non-profit organization that accepts the Fitra Endowment of Muslim individuals, families, and communities.
You can pay your Fitra Endowment with Bismillah. The small amount is collected and used to better the needy and for other humanitarian purposes. You can pay for yourself, and as the head of your family, you can also pay the fitrana for your dependents, children, servants, and other dependent relatives. We accept Fitra Endowment during Ramadan, before the Eid al-Fitr prayers, so that the poor and needy can also enjoy the day of Eid with zeal. Bismillah ensures that the recipients of fitrana are the needy and the poor people in need. Bismillah acts as your charitable agent, using your Fitra Endowment to buy and distribute food on your behalf so you can enjoy your Eid with your loved ones in peace.
